WHO WE ARE

Phyllis Thesier, MAT, CCC-SLP is a nationally certified speech and communication speech-language pathologist and consultant for professionals in business and industry. She has over 20 years of experience in business, educational and medical environments. In 1998, she founded Accent Management Group. She focuses on working with busy professionals that want customized communication training on or off-site to effectively and efficiently communicate their ideas in American Standard English. She includes a wide variety of training technology to best fit the needs of her clients.

Training includes:

• Foreign and/or regional accent improvement from conversations to presentations
• Understanding and using idioms, slang and related words
• Language and grammar improvement in speaking and writing.
• Training in body language and response–reply strategies in peer conversations
• Listening & understanding differing American accents
• Diversity, culture and communication training for Management Teams
  

Traditional Speech training issues include:

• Improving a rough and raspy or a tired, weak voice
• Improving difficult pronunciation issues
• Increasing fluency from stuttering
• Increase hearing effectiveness with a hearing loss.

In addition to founding Accent Management Group in 1998, Ms. Thesier has started and developed very successful Speech Therapy departments at Dunn Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital in Indiana. In addition she has been a Senior Staff Therapist for hospitals and Rehabilitation Centers in Indiana and Utah. In these positions she focused on developing practical and community related speech therapy training practices for education and rehab programs for children through adults. She also was a part of the research focused Jordan Schools Speech Therapy program in Jordan, Utah as well as a past adjunct professor at Framingham State College.  The office in New Jersey serves clients throughout the United States.

Ms. Thesier has been active within the Toastmaster’s International Community presenting workshops on communication Styles and Body Language, Culture and Communication at District Conferences. She has also presented to the Massachusetts Society for Professional Engineers Annual Conference, WPI Enterprise Forum, Rotary, and Massachusetts Special Olympics.
